Busy season is upon us. What does this mean?

Well, September, October and November tend to be the busiest season for photographers.

My schedule is filled with those precious newborns (as always) plus mini sessions, extra family sessions and then your typical editing and office work (invoicing, contracts, emails, you name it!). The late nights (or in my case) early mornings to take care of all the things!

This season can be overwhelming at times, but what a JOY! I love the craziness as we prepare for the holidays.

In the midst of it all, it is so important to take care of yourself, focus on your family and not overdue it! This year I have been more intentional about my family time on the weekends. Stepping away from my computer during the day and soaking up the Fall fun with our little boys. Playing fireman, going on walks, carving pumpkins and pretend camping!

As we round out October, September and October have been two of my busiest months, and I am still setting goals, planning for 2021 and looking forward to adding some new things to my offerings!

The past few years have been years of learning, growth, adjusting to becoming a mom of 1 and now 2, all while working full-time, being a wife, mom, daughter, and friend. Some days I wonder what I am doing, but it’s those sweet emails, compliments and the joy that an image can bring to my clients that reassure me I am doing what the Lord has called me to do.

Send your photographer friends a little thank you, coffee, sweet note of encouragement or just let them know you appreciate them! A little can go a long way. We all need it during this season!

Heirloom Portraits | Dallas, TX Portrait Photography

About two years ago I had a client reach out to ask if I did the black & white heirloom pictures. Fast forward a year, and I have started incorporating these heirloom portraits into my milestone studio sessions as a “test run”. I absolutely love these classic portraits of children. Over the past couple of years, I have done much research and watched a fellow photographer in South Carolina showcase these. I would love to begin offering them to clients locally on a limited basis!

I am interested in Heirloom Portraits, when will you offer them?

I am so excited to announce that I will be offering the Black and White Heirloom portrait sessions on a regular basis throughout the year! I love these quick, simple sessions for families to create a lasting, timeless image of their children.

Beginning in 2021, this new offering will be scheduled during the week at a studio in Plano. I will offer the heirloom portrait sessions on a quarterly basis throughout the year with a limited number of slots. You will receive 6-8 images of your child in black and white ready to print and hang in your home!

Will you be offering a heirloom portrait session in this Fall?

If you are interested in a vignette session this Fall, I am looking at offering one day in November for a studio session to offer Heirloom portraits for Christmas! These would be a perfect Christmas gift for mom or grandparents!

Please reach out to me here if you are interested in booking a slot for your children!

How early do you need to do need to book a newborn session?

I hear this question quite a bit. Did you know I book sessions as soon as your first doctor’s appointment? And sometimes people even reach out before they begin to tell family and friends!

I know it seems scary, but I do fill up! I take a limited number of sessions each month and typically book up 2-3 months in advance. This allows me to make sure I can dedicate the needed time to each of my clients. It is best to reach out as soon as you feel comfortable even if you wait until you get through that first trimester, but the sooner the better!

Plus, I offer newborn collections which can include maternity and fresh 48 hospital sessions! These two will have to be scheduled even early which means we need to get you on the calendar!

But what if our baby comes early?

Not to worry! We tentatively set a session date and go from there. We can adjust either way a bit as I know newborns come on their own timing, and can sometimes be hard to plan around. I usually schedule your session two weeks from your due date, unless you prefer to wait a little longer to let your baby grow a bit more and mama get adjusted to those sleepless nights.

If you are expecting, I am currently booking into 2021! Please reach out to me for more details and information on availability and to book your session here.
